1.0 Executive & Organization Summary

Golden Care Organization (GCO) is a community-based organization founded to support elderly persons and widows living in vulnerable conditions in Samburu County, specifically Samburu North Sub-County, South Horr Location.

Many elderly people and widows in this region live in extreme poverty, social isolation, neglect, and poor health due to limited family support, harsh climatic conditions, and weak access to social services.

GCO exists to restore dignity, hope, and care to these vulnerable groups through regular home visits, emotional support, basic material assistance, and community-driven care systems. While GCO does not currently have formal partners, it is sustained through team member contributions and goodwill support from friends and well-wishers.

  • To offer emotional and social support through regular visits, companionship, and community engagement.

  • To work with community members, partners, and well-wishers to improve the well-being of elderly people and widows.
  • To advocate for the care, protection, and dignity of elderly people and widows.

Commitment: Youth Elevation Programme wants to inspire pro-social friendships and empower the community through targeted strategies:

School & Boychild Alliances: Establish a strong network of support, and partners with the school systems, and boychild in the community.

Fundraising Agility: Launch a series of fundraising activities that will successfully fund the expanding program.

Mentor Training: Establish an effective training program for mentors that will increase their ability to be successful communicators.

Safe Monitoring: Establish an effective monitoring system to protect both the boychild and the mentor.

"We cannot remain silent while grandmothers who raised entire generations are forgotten on cold earthen floors. Golden Care Organization was born in South Horr to ensure that every widow and elderly person is visited, sheltered, fed, and held in high honor."

Recognizing the extreme vulnerabilities in Samburu North Sub-County, Emily mobilized a cohort of 15 active community members to bridge the gap between neglected elders and survival support. Her hands-on ground leadership encompasses door-to-door manyatta check-ins, mattress deliveries, food distribution, and boychild educational restoration.
